Everything that you want is in this story- romance, action, the love of family and friends. Let me first tell you not to be turned off by the first couple of pages. I read them and said, “What is this??? I don’t like to tell a story. That eliminates the joy of reading a book for me. Just let me say there is a reason why the author writes the beginning in that manner.
The rest of the book is awesome. I never was sure of who the friend was and who the enemy was. I felt there was more than 1 bad guy, but who was it? There were times that you decided, and found out that you were wrong. The author gradually feeds you information on Echo’s past. It was done in a way that was not frustrating but has you anxious for more. There were surprises, and fear of what might happen. Echo has been a social recluse for over 3 years. Her co-worker, Vanity, convinces her to go to a club to support Vanity’s sister.
The opening act does not show up and Echo ends up reciting poetry to save the night. She “wows” the crowd and meets 2 outstanding guys (who may be friends or enemies). One of them invites her to Jamaica on a trip (that may, or may not, be for business). While she is in Jamaica, the action starts fast and furious. Her past comes to the future to threaten her life and those that she cares about. This is a must read book.
